A weak substorm is developing. Stay tuned. We had a pretty good hit during the day, headed north but starting to dip down again.

NOAA is forecasting increased geomagnetic activity around 11 pm our time, according to the three day forecast. If you look at the middle column under “August 19,” 03-06 UT and 06-09 UT are the times we are looking at. It will be August 19 at 8:00 PM Maine time August 18. It’s a different time zone in space.

There are high moving clouds over Midcoast Maine, and clouds over the state could present problems for folks in the southern part of the state to Midcoast, but Northern Maine looks to be in the clear. I’m going to hazard a guess that anywhere on the coast may see some clouding or fog tonight with shifting thermal patterns and wind directions. But, it could just blow right out, too.

The moon is not as much of an issue tonight, waning crescent 21%.

And don’t forget- keep watching the Planet Parade just before dawn in the easterly sky!

I will keep you posted!
