Good evening and welcome to the MABW forecast for November 15, UTC 00:00. Well, it’s still November 14, but, by the time I get done with all this, probably, it will be tomorrow in space.

A weak substorm is developing. Slight chances of viewing but it won’t be very strong. However, we do have a large geoeffective coronal hole facing earth that should be with us for a few days. We will see if anything comes of that.

Inland and Northern Maine look to be clearing, while clouds continue to linger over the misty moisty oceanic inlets and interstices of the coast. The massive storming that we saw over the past couple days has passed at this point, and I’m so glad so many new folks got to experience a real storm, albeit battling moon and clouds. If you are Jonesing for Space, there is a nice update on the SWPC site about the SWFO-L1 satellite, the Artemis Testbed, and other cool stuff. Here’s the link to that. https://www.swpc.noaa.gov/

Also a good time to review some housekeeping. We only have images on here taken in Maine. We ask people to wait for the forecast before asking on here, for the simple reason that if 70 thousand people start asking, it’s hard to keep the runway clear for the forecast. We can’t pin content on here. Which is one of the reasons why the blog also exists, which you can always check to see at a glance if there’s activity rather than trying to find the forecast on here. It works for some people and not for others. I do have a sign up for email alerts but I was doing them through Constant Contact and decided I didn’t like that. So if you’re on that list and you’re like, where did she go, I’m in the midst of figuring stuff out. It’s sort of a full time job running all this, plus the admin team invests major time. So I will get my alert act together, but, the best thing is to just wait to see if we post a forecast.

Also, please do not use other people’s pictures for any reason whatsoever. We get that occasionally, where someone swipes someone else’s content and posts it elsewhere as their own. If you’d like to share someone’s photo, great to ask, or at least attribute it and use the share button.

That’s enough rules for a few minutes, I need to make some tea, but, WELCOME new members, I’m still going through and adding folks who came in during the big storms, but, welcome.
