Or, 5:48 Maine Time.
The G1 level storming NOAA/SWPC predicted for tonight into tomorrow morning is coming earlier than forecast yesterday, which is good news, because if this pans out, it will still be dark. Looks like an active G1 period forecast from 11 pm- 1 am local Maine time. If you look at the Nov 26 column on the three day forecast image below, you’ll see the time 03-06 UT, with G1 next to the number 5. That’s 5 kP, which gets us into the mild geomagnetic substorm region.
However, it probably won’t pan out, because clouds are moving over most of the state with rain forecast overnight. Eastern Aroostook is still in the clear, but clouds will be rolling in around 8-9 pm. All other regions appear to be cloudy.
Current conditions: North
Solar Wind Speed: 789 km/sec
Solar Wind Magnetic Fields: Bt 7 nT, Bz 2 nT
I’ll keep you posted.
