Good evening and welcome to the official MABW forecast. I feel like I have been under a rock for the past few weeks, with horrible weather conditions, cold, moon….but, it’s rather mild this evening, the moon won’t be up for a while, and skies are sort of almost clear. They were gorgeously clear today, and I hope everyone got out for some sunshine! I did – on the other end of a manure rake.

Looks like we should have clear skies right up until midnight or 1 am, and there is a substorm in progress with mild to moderate activity forecast.

Current conditions:

  • Solar Wind Speed: 403 km/sec
  • Solar Wind Magnetic Fields: Bt 10 nT, Bz -5 nT

A respectable trajectory, but a rather slow wind.

We’ll just have to keep an eye on it, but, if conditions hold and the sky doesn’t suddenly cloud up, we should see some mild viewing possibilities on camera before moonrise, which is in the 10:30 pm neighborhood. I’ll keep you posted.
